DESIGN PRINCIPALS

Michael Humphrey Mason, Architect, AIA
Michael earned a Master in Architecture from Tulane University in 1975 and continued post-graduate studies in Europe, Scandinavia, and North Africa. After practicing years in the Rocky Mountains, he returned to New Orleans to work on the 1984 World's Fair: Louisiana's World Exposition. Positioned as Point Architect of the Aquarium of the Americas to Project Architect of Loyola Law School's Library, Michael administered major hotels, churches, libraries and master planning projects in Southern Louisiana until the town of Mansfield requested his expertise to revitalize its city center. This included the restoration of the 1911 Desoto Parish Courthouse and the construction of five buildings surrounding Annex Square. Following this seven year project, Michael has directed the construction of eight university union buildings, and continues to design and build residential projects from Red River, NM to Diamondhead, MS.

Kristen Mason Klamer
After graduating from LSU with a B Arch, Kristen moved to New York where she gained experience as the project architect of multiple high-end apartment renovations, prefabricated homes along the cost of Long Island, office space build-outs in New Jersey and San Francisco, and restaurant/bars within Manhattan.  Since moving back home to New Orleans in 2011, she has lead the design of historic restoration/adaptive mixed-use build-outs, a 16-story multi-family new construction high-rise, office headquarters, and several single-family renovations.  Her work has been published in Dwell, Hampton Mag, New York Times, New York Magazine, Inspiring Office Space, and St Charles Avenue Magazine.

Jennifer DaRos, LEED AP
Jennifer earned her B Arch at the University of Arizona in Tucson in 2000, and worked for the highly respected, award winning design firm Line and Space, LLC under the guidance of Les Wallach, FAIA.   Here she developed a connection to the idea of design as a sense of place, the importance of site, context, history and memory woven into the design.  in 2006 she relocated to Hawaii and worked for 8inc, the firm best known for developing the original prototype for the Apple Store, where she was involved in several high end retail projects.  She returned to the mainland in 2011 and has worked in Louisiana and Houston on a mix of large scale commercial projects and Historic Renovation work.  Recent projects include the new 19 Million Dollar Center of Excellence in Manufacturing for Houston Community College, for which she served as lead designer, project manager, and oversaw construction for RdlR Architects. The project was completed for $1M under budget.
